My First Quiz in LBYBUS1

There it was, the announcement for our first long quiz in LBYBUS1. And soon enough, came June 14, 2012, the day for our very first long quiz.

When I got my test paper and started answering, it felt quite easy. I was able to answer the questions with out so much doubt. But when the 'True or False' part came, my mind blanked out. I don't know what happened but I couldn't answer the questions properly. I couldn't which circle to shade. I know I can't blame anybody because it just meant that I didn't study hard enough.

I didn't get the score that I wanted but this first quiz was some kind of getting-to-know the style of my professor on how he gives tests. Instead of just being disappointed, I told myself that I should review more and be more attentive during class. Also I was glad that I learned useful things not only for school but also for my daily computer in LBYBUS.

My first week at DLSU

It's been exactly a week since school started. For me, it was a beginning of a new world. Every single thing I did was new.

It began with going to school and going home from school. Even if I have been in this country for almost over a decade, I have never tried riding the public transportation like the LRT and the MRT. To go to school from my place, I have to ride through 11 stations. It's a long and scary ride but when I think about it, when I look back to these times, I'll just laugh and leave it as a good experience.

It's a new and a bigger place. Unlike high schools, college was much bigger. I got lost inside the campus many times. Like the time when I had to go to Yuchengco Hall to attend the International Student's Orientation, I kept roaming around Yuchengco Hall because there was no label that said that that big lobby was the Yuchengco building. When I finally found out that that was the place I was looking for, I just cracked up and made myself a DLSU class guide for myself.

Preparing my books, things I need, finding my classrooms, they were all up to me. Unlike in high school where everything is prepared for me, I had to do it all by myself. From finding the books I need for a class to being in the class for a lesson on time.

I had more freedom. I had the choice to do whatever I want wherever I want. But like they say, with great freedom, comes great responsibilities. Although it's only been a week, I felt more responsible.

I don't know what will happen to the rest of my days in DLSU but it felt like a place I have been for a long time. I look forward to my stay, meeting great people with great opportunities.
